Jack under the player's control examines the levels of Delight that are abandoned and populated by hostile mutants. In addition to visual scenes the plot is given through the found audio recordings as well as radio conversations with a few friendly characters.
Being a first-person shooter Bioshock also contains elements of role-playing games. The player is allowed to improve his weapons and abilities overcome obstacles in several ways as well as take ambiguous decisions from the point of view of morality - for example to leave certain characters alive or to kill.
Bioshock earned high marks from critics. The game press praised the philosophical scenario of the game and an unusual detailed world. Bioshock received a number of awards including the title of "Game of the Year" from BAFTA Game Informer Spike Video Game Awards and IGN. In 2010 released a direct sequel - Bioshock 2 developed by 2K Marin and in 2013 - "spiritual heir" the game BioShock Infinite developed by Irrational Games.
